1:50 Beverley Racing Tips (2nd July) AWARD-WINNING COACHMAN CARAVANS MAIDEN AUCTION STAKES (CLASS 5) (2yo)

A Maiden Auction Stakes over 7f 100y on good going. Nine two-year-olds take part all raced bar one debutante. Quite a restricted race type. Sir Viktor hasn't been seen for over two months, although he did turn up at Ripon a few weeks back but was withdrawn after becoming unsettled in the stalls. This Irish-bred son of Sir Prancelot is a big, strong colt who was first seen in April at Pontefract when well backed. He ran so poorly that you have to come to the conclusion that he either suffered an injury or was exceptionally inexperienced. Karl Burke has taken his time with this juvenile and although he has been far from a glowing example of ability so far I suspect connections fancy this April foal has a chance to win a race or two. This step up to 7f 100y looks a move in the right direction. After a desperate debut run, this is something of a speculative punt so I would take the early price of 10/1+ and bet BOG. From a statistical point of view, Sir Viktor has win and place claims.
