6:45 Ripon 2YO Racing Tips (4th July) KIRKGATE MAIDEN AUCTION FILLIES´ STAKES (Plus 10 Race) (CLASS 5) (2yo)

A Maiden Fillies Auction Stakes over 6f on good going.  Quite a restricted race type but interesting it is a Plus 10, which makes this a nice purse for the winner. Consequently, this is likely to be a better class of race than your average auction. Thirteen two-year-olds take part

I will highlight a few horse of interest.

Ontoawinner racing syndicate have hit the headline with their star filly Quiet Reflection and represented by two juveniles in the shape of Local Artist and Seduce Me. To be fair, both could figure here. Local Artist ran well last time out after showing promise on debut. This Irish-bred daughter of Requinto finished runner-up to Karl Burke's Showdance Kid and this may be reason why Spigot Lodge fancy their chances with that measure and Seduce Me. This daughter of Dutch Art wasn't fancied on debut at Thirsk but showed ability when finishing fifth. The form of that race is puzzling as a few have won next start while others have disappointed. The betting is worth noting for this bay filly who was purchased by the trainer for 18,000G. If priced 13/2 & less SP must have sound each-way claims. Even at bigger odds I would fancy this juvenile to hit the frame.

Tim Easterby targets Ripon with a few decent juveniles on debut, which is a marked contrast to most of his two-year-olds which need the run. Myllachy races in the familiar grey silks of Roger Sidebottom who has done very well with the likes of Azagal. Easterby, like many trainers, targets these Plus 10 contests and he does so particularly well. This relatively cheap yearling purchase at just 10,000G would be worthy of note if priced 13/2 & less SP.

Party Nights is another filly who could go well if falling within a similar betting guide. Luca Cumani is a rare visitor to the garden racecourse and this daughter of Lawman ran well enough on debut, especially as she was keen in the early stages of the race.

Conclusion: A bumper payday for a winner if taking this Plus 10 contest which adds £10,000 to prize money. Some of these juveniles will pay for themselves with one victory. The betting will tell the story for most. Seduce Me and Local Artist catch the eye. I would be interested in the former to hit the frame. If strongly fancied in the betting it would be an even greater pointer for a stable who have a form line with the favourite and know a decent chance when they see one.
