Thursday's 2YO Racing Tips

A very busy week and struggling to keep up to date but will detail a couple of interesting horses.

2:00 Newmarket - This doesn't look the easiest of races to assess. Martyn Meade has a select string of two-year-olds and Eminent has been showing up well on the gallops. This bay colt is a son of Frankel who cost 150,000G at the yearling sales. Must be one of the cheapest yearlings from this outstanding sire. In the ownership of Sir Peter Vela. The majority of the Frankel debutantes are primed to go well on their first start and this youngster isn't likely to be any different. Meade does well with his juveniles and although this will not be a walk in the park he could hold each-way claims.

5:45 Chelmsford - For quite a restricted race type this race has decent prize money and the potential of the Plus 10 for those eligible. Sir Mark Prescott's debutantes have been as slow as a snail this season which the majority very inexperienced. Kohinoor Diamond is a bay filly sired by Excelebration, a relatively cheap yearling purchase at just 35.000E. She was made 50-1 on debut over course and distance. She most definitely needed the run. A slow start, green in rear, and pushed along on rear, and after showing just a glimmer of ability was eased towards the finish. A wide draw doesn't inspire confidence because if Kohinoor Diamond is slow away it could be missing impossible if running on the outer. Turning courses are always hard work if not sitting in a decent position. The key factor for this fillies' chance is the betting. If priced 13/2 & less has sound claims from a statistical point of view. Even if within this betting guide I would have to take a watching brief with fear of the draw.
