Thursday's Racing Tips

A few two-year-old races to consider so here goes.

2:05 Epsom - No great interest here. Quite a restricted race type. I thought Masonic would go well last time out for Robyn Brisland after a fair effort on debut at sunny Yarmouth. Not sure what happened last time out when this son Intense Focus when he trailed down the field. I'd have to take a watching brief as I don't like betting when there is a question mark or two.

3:40 Doncaster - Weatherbys Hamilton £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes. A big field trying to snatch win prize money of £147,540. Twenty-two runners plenty of talents.Definitely a watching race.

4:50 Doncaster - A hot maiden. Win prize money of £9,703.50 (love the 50p). Eight runners for this 1-mile contest which may be of interest to each-way backers. The Anvil is trained by Aidan O'Brien. This son of Galileo looked to be second string on debut at the Curragh and expectation is that this bay colt will be primed for today. He has a string of impressive entries but whether I'd jump in at 6/4 is another question. Hydroxide is held in high regard by Hugo Palmer and unlucky not to win on debut after a tardy start. If drifting to each-way prices, I'd take an interest.

6:10 Chelmsford - I keep thinking what could have been when Chica De La Noche's saddle slipped when 100/1 at Newbury. I had a bet to win a hell of a lot of money and not particularly impressed by that turn of events when looking a winner. I would fancy Simon Dow's to go very well here but a wide draw doesn't inspire although I wish connection better luck because she is a decent horse.
