2:50 York Racing Tips (7th Oct) JWPCREERS SUPPORTING LORD MAYOR´S CHARITIES EBF STALLIONS MAIDEN STAKES (Plus 10 Race) (CLASS 3) (2yo)

Decent prize money for this EBF Maiden Stakes (Plus 10). A big old field of two-year-olds.

Her Terms is well regarded but proven disappointing with a string of placed efforts. In truth, she has done little wrong but you have to wonder if sooner or later she will regress after a long season.

Interesting to see Michael Easterby's Charlton Frankie makes her long-awaited return after making her debut at this course when competing in the Marygate Fillies' Stakes Listed race. There was money for this daughter of Equiano who was a touch keen over the first two furlongs and tired in the closing stages. It must be a sign of some confidence that she started at pattern class and found in the betting. It is a concern that she hasn't been on course since May and there must have been a few problems. A difficult horse to assess but a juvenile to respect especially if well backed.

David Barron can ready a two-year-old debutante and Glorious Politics looks a good yearling purchase at 45,000GNS. This bay colt is a son of Delegator out of a decent mare [Pelican Key] who won on debut and competed at Royal Ascot many moons ago. David Barron does well when his debutantes are fancied in the betting and if priced 10/1 & less SP is worthy of respect.

Kodicat was behind Her Terms on their recent York running.

Conclusion: Not the easiest race to assess. Her Terms has a big chance on her best form but there is a concern she will regress at some point and at relatively short odds I would take a watching brief. Kodicat may take advantage if Her Terms flounders. Charlton Frankie may be worth a speculative punt at bigger odds because you can pretty much guarantee she has shown ample ability on the gallops and start at Listed class. That is very unusual and the fact she was backed gives some confidence. The worry with Easterby's charge is that she hasn't been seen for many months. If backed it would be a positive. Glorious Politics is worthy of note. I would pay particularly to the betting. If priced 10/1 & less SP I would bet tempted to bet each-way. However, if weak in the betting and outside this betting guide best watched. A tricky race.
