Wednesday's 2YO Racing Tips (19th Oct)

Very busy today with one thing and another so this will be straight to the point.

1:30 Newmarket - White Chocolate ran well on debut when second over one mile. Interesting to see how this drop back in distance suits. Jamie Spencer has been in fine form when riding for David Simcock's two-year-old with nearly a 30% strike rate. From a statistical point of view, this grey filly has very good win and place claims. Rae Guest's Nostalgia placed on debut at huge odds and owned and bred by Miss K. Rausing. Has each-way claims.

3:05 Newmarket - A large field and plenty of high-profile stables represented. Rummani is held in some regard by Charlie Appleby. Not sure if 5/4 is a value bet with form horses in opposition, but connections will be disappointed if this well bred son of Dubawi can't chalk up his first win.

4:15 Newmarket - An EBF Maiden Stakes over 1 mile. John Gosden has a wealth of two-year-olds this season. Stradivarius comes from a good family and cost 330,000G at the yearling sales. He started his career at Nottingham over 1 mile and half a furlong finishing a respectable fifth behind Contrapposto. That looked a decent race and the fact this chestnut colt was priced 3/1 suggests connection expected a bold show. I'd keep an eye on the betting, but if priced 13/2 & less SP has each-way claims.

6:20 Kempton - Looks out of the three if the betting is anything to go by. Archer's Row is odds-on for Saeed bin Suroor. It might give each-way backers a chance to pounce with Pivoine. This bay colt was well backed on debut but disappointed in third place some lengths behind Via Egnatia. I will keep an eye on the betting and wait for the market to settle before concluding my thoughts.
