7:45 Kempton Racing Tips (8th March) Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (3yo)

A big maiden with thirteen runners. Not a great deal of time this evening so I will detail a couple of horses which may be worthy of note.

Hold Sway comes here with a reputation. Charlie Appleby's son of Dubawi is very well bred and I can detail this bay colt was held in some regard at two. He must have been a touch weak or slow to come to hand to make his appearance now. However, it is encouraging to see this February foal at this time. It suggests to me he will be firing on all cylinders. A prime draw is good if starting on terms. The only downside is a relatively short price. Over one mile there may be plenty of time to find his feet if a little ring rusty. This turning track ca be hard work.

Interesting to see Chris Wall with a very expensive horse. It may be the most expensive three-year-old he has ever trained. Entangling is owned by Ben CM Wong. He is an owner I often associate with James Fanshawe and David Elsworth. This son of Fastnet Rock cost 380,000E. Another horse is well drawn in stall three. Chris Wall isn't known for debut winners although, like most trainers, can go well with a talented horse. I would imagine this January foal will be fit and ready. However, I would keep an eye on the betting. It would be a plus if backed, alternatively, it may be a negative if very weak in the market.
