6:30 Windsor Racing Tips (16th May) BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF NOVICE FILLIES´ STAKES (Plus 10 Race) (CLASS 4) (2yo)

A Novice Fillies' Stakes over 5f 10y on good going. Eight two-year-old takes part including a winner, form horses and a selection of debutantes. The betting will be of particular interest to assess the debutantes.

Jule In The Crown was fancied to go well on debut and a bargain by at just £16,000. This daughter of Harbour Watch raced at Ascot on her racecourse bow and physically a good-looking juvenile. She caught my eye. Mick Channon must have fancied her to go well but this bay filly was far too keen to herself justice and although looking as if she could pose a threat at the two pole inexperience cost this April foal. I would expect a much more professional performance today and with a couple of fancied horse sin opposition could make for a fair each-way bet. [Update: unless it drifts markedly it will not be an each-way price 5/2.]

I am more concerned about one of the newcomers being backed and posing a potential problem if there is a battle for the places. I'd expect Tiggaliscious to beat Fastnet Spin [who would be better suited if the ground turned testing]. If the betting suggests it's a pretty weak heat I would be looking towards Jule In The Crown being backed and a fighting chance of the win.
