3:05 Royal Ascot (14th June) COVENTRY STAKES (Group 2) (CLASS 1) (2yo)

So the Royal meeting finally starts to imagine of wellington boots rather than high-heeled shoes. And that's just the men. Good to soft ground with the fear of very testing conditions. We may see a few strange results along the way. I will be concentrating on the six two-year-old races so we will see if one of these has hooves the size of dinner plates or a duck accompanies the horse to the stables as a friend. I have my eye on one horse for this race and it is Mehmas trained by Richard Hannon. I think this son of Dark Angel could be  a blessing from the Gods and looks a fair bet at odds of 15/2. With Frankie Dettori is the saddle and the leaders likely to go full steam ahead I think this son of Acclamation will finish with verve and that could well be positive when many juveniles will go a stride too fast and may be caught out with these testing conditions.
