5:50 Chepstow Racing Tips (22nd July) BRAINS BEER MAIDEN AUCTION FILLIES´ STAKES (Plus 10 Race) (CLASS 5) (2yo)

A Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes over 6f 16y on good to firm going.  Eight two-year-olds take part and this Plus 10 has improved the standard of this race type. It will be interesting to see how the betting settles because the early market suggests a few are fancied to go well.

I have my eye on a big priced selection here. Karl Burke is a top trainer and Rita's Girl may hold more hope the first impressions who have you think. This daughter of Harbour Watch wasn't fancied on her debut at Hamilton over 5f on good to soft going which gives me a good reason to think this January foal needed the race. By all accounts that were a good race and plenty of juveniles have franked that form. Rita's Girl looks a great yearling purchase at just £10,000. A slow start gave her no chance but, in truth, this January foal finished with verve. Over this extra furlong, it wouldn't be a shock to see a marked improvement and at odds of 16/1 is worth taking an each-way punt.

Joyful Dream is another at huge odds who could sneak into the frame.
