That honour goes to Masonic. If you see someone placing a bet with one trouser leg hitched halfway up their calf you know the horse they fancy. I saw this colt when he made his debut at Great Yarmouth. He was backed from much bigger prices and turned out to be the only horse to challenge the odds-on favourite, Marilyn, who wasn't pressed to win. The form of Robyn Brisland's charge has been rather up and down. Uncertainty has ruled with this horse. Which Masonic will turn up is the question and betting at even money does look a touch short. I wouldn't bet on those odds myself but each to their own.
Winning Bid has been battling away and has the visor applied for the first time. Harry Dunlop's horse has an element of ability but it does seem a struggle.
Conclusion: I have a slight phobia about betting straight wins and unless a horse touches each-way odds I am a little reserved. Claire's Secret and Masonic. It sounds like a male chauvinist pig (joke) meets Clair Balding. In an intellectual debate or arm wrestle, I would vote for the girl with the full head of hair. Claire's Secret has a very good chance to win and at the odds (even though I have a phobia) she is worth a small win bet.
